Older Adult Services

Elmcor has been enhancing the lives of older adults since 1981 by providing a comprehensive array of services aimed at promoting healthy aging. Operating out of four centers located in East Elmhurst, Lefrak City, Jackson Heights, and Corona, Elmcor offers participants access to a wide range of programs and services. Services offered include:

  • Physical, cultural, recreational, and social activities (both intra and intergenerational)
  • Exercise, nutrition, and health education
  • Telephone reassurance, friendly visits, shopping assistance, escort, technology, information, referral, and other in-home support services
  • Local, out-of-state, and international trips
  • A warming center in winter months and cooling center in summer months
  • Case assistance to ensure participants get the benefits to which they are entitled
  • Nutritious, congregate meals

 

Older adult services are open to individuals age 60 and older. Other Services

Behavioral Health Services

Elmcor offers a 51-bed facility for adult men and women with chronic substance use disorders. Residents are assessed for person-centered, family-focused, community-connected care.

Youth Services

Elmcor operates the first and only Youth Recovery Club House in Queens funded by Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS), and operates within our recreation building. The Youth Clubhouse is open to all Queens youth ages 12-25 and their families.

Housing Services

In February 2024, Elmcor launched its Housing Services program with the opening of the Helen M. Marshall Manor, a state-of-the-art, 30-unit apartment building that provides affordable and supportive housing, including 21 units for people recovering from substance misuse and/or mental health issues and 9 units for older adults experiencing unstable housing situations.
