Intensive Residential Treatment Services
Elmcor offers a 51-bed facility for adult men and women with chronic substance use disorders. Residents are assessed for person-centered, family-focused, community-connected care. All services are confidential and available to anyone in need of intensive substance use disorder rehabilitation and recovery services. No one will be denied treatment due to financial hardships. Our comprehensive residential services are provided using a modified therapeutic community/self-help model that includes the following components:
- Individual and group counseling
- Gender-specific groups,
- Vocational training,
- Health education,
- Relapse prevention,
- Mental health evaluations and psychopharmacology.
Specialized, therapeutic, informative sessions that incorporate our trauma-informed care and evidence-based approaches also facilitate family reintegration, as well as parenting skills that help participants achieve and sustain positive life outcomes. Prior to completing our residential program, Elmcor partners with the courts, various divisions of the legal system, the Administration for Children’s Services, the Human Resources Administration, as well as various foster care agencies to ensure participants are provided with the support that promotes healthy and seamless community and family reintegration.
Intensive residential treatment services are open to individuals 18 years of age and older. For program inquiries, please contact Brenda Moore, Residential Services Director, at 718-651-0096 (Ext. 219) or via email at b.moore@elmcor.org; and Linda Booth, Clinical Director of Residential Services at 718-651-0096 (Ext. 212) or via email at l.booth@elmcor.org.
Outpatient Services
Our rehabilitation/outpatient treatment program is a medically supervised Article 32 program that offers culturally age- and gender-specific intensive and non-intensive services to individuals struggling with co-occurring and substance use disorders. Though our treatment services are covered by Medicaid and/or private insurance, we ensure that services remain affordable for participants who are uninsured by utilizing a sliding scale for fees. No one will be denied treatment due to financial hardships. Additionally, we offer a flexible schedule, providing participant’s access to services during the day, evening, and/or weekend, in-person or virtually.
Our treatment services are confidential, developed with individualized person-centered and family-focused plans. Each plan incorporates evidence-based, trauma-informed, goal-oriented prevention strategies designed to provide a pathway for healthy and productive living. Services include assessments; individual, group, family and vocational counseling; relapse prevention; anger management; intimate-partner violence; DWI assessments/counseling; parenting skills workshops; family reunification groups; intervention services within the community, specialized youth treatment services endorsed by the Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS), and more. Physical and mental health evaluations are conducted and medically assisted treatment employed as needed.
The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), a component of Outpatient Services, will provide medication management for participants with opioid use disorders. Medications such as Methadone, Buprenorphine, and Vivitrol will be available for the participants to determine the best course of treatment. OTP services will be available beginning March 2025.
Outpatient services are open to individuals 12 years of age and older. For additional information please contact Noreen Etienne, Director of Outpatient Services, at 718-651-0096 (Ext. 205) or via email at n.etienne@elmcor.org.
