Yariela Harwood, Elmcor’s Vice President of Technology and Human Resources, has dedicated over a decade to the organization. Her operational expertise and commitment to Elmcor’s mission drive efficiency, accountability, and innovation. Yariela deeply connects with the diverse communities Elmcor serves, embodying its mission to break barriers and build futures.
Before Elmcor, Yariela gained extensive experience in nonprofit operations, finance, and administration at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and Diaspora Community Services. She also worked in care management program services, combining administrative, IT, and direct programmatic expertise.
Yariela’s journey at Elmcor began in 2015 as Program Operations Manager, where she quickly distinguished herself as a highly capable leader in both human resources and technology systems. In this role, she streamlined processes, enhanced compliance, improved staff support, and strengthened organizational policies, also playing a key role in payroll, benefits, and risk management. Yariela is recognized for her tireless work ethic, accountability, and ability to support staff and leadership in achieving goals, ensuring Elmcor remains at the forefront of nonprofit best practices.
Beyond her executive duties, Yariela coaches and mentors young women in Elmcor’s softball program, instilling discipline, respect, and teamwork.
