Elesia Johnson, affectionately known as “EJ” to her colleagues, holds a master’s degree in social work from Lincoln University and a certificate in Family Therapy from the renowned Menuhin Family Institute. With over 30 years of experience in program development, EJ has specialized in initiatives for pregnant and parenting teenagers, as well as strategic planning for developmentally challenged adults. Her expertise extends to preparing youth in foster care for adulthood, and creating safe, nurturing environments for adjudicated youth―utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed practices.

Throughout her accomplished career, EJ’s work has reflected her long-standing commitment to addressing the needs of marginalized and neglected groups. This includes her time as Associate Executive Director of Programs for Older Adults with the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults, Inc. (JSPOA), EJ built strong partnerships with over 70 community organizations to deliver multifaceted services addressing social, emotional, and emergency needs for older adults. Her dedication to sustainable program development continues to uplift the entire community, reflecting her belief that we rise by elevating others.
